This Veteran’s Day, the Indie Book Collective is doing something special for our troops: blog tour with free ebooks! How is this any different than any other blog tours they host? Well not only do YOU get a free ebook, but a free ebook will also be sent to our troops! All you have to do is comment! The Indie Book Collective is also raising money to send new Kindles to our troops so they have something to read during any downtime. If you would like to donate, go here!

Today, we are sponsoring none other than the awesomely talented Lacey Weatherford (shocking!) She is giving away a free ebook copy of her fourth and latest book in the Of Witches and Warlocks series, The Dark Rising. Synopsis: When Portia Mullins discovers the love of her life is still alive her heart soars.  But reality sets in immediately causing it to plummet when she realizes he doesn’t remember his past life with her.  Unwilling to give up, she embarks on a loving quest to restore his life to him.
Vance Mangum sees the beautiful girl claiming to be his wife, and while he can’t remember her, he can’t deny the intense pull he feels between them.  Not knowing where else to turn, he agrees to give her the time she’s asked for and to assist her in the effort to recover his memories.
The two quickly reconnect, but dark surprises are lurking in the wings when Vance discovers a desperate longing for something he feels he can’t withstand.  Will he be able to resist? Or will evil raise its head in a new form, leaving Portia as the prey of the very man her heart desires?
Darkness reigns supreme in this haunting tale of love and desperation, Of Witches and Warlocks, The Dark Rising.

Our bad boy Vance takes his bad-assery to a new extreme. At the beginning, I hated how Vance was acting, but it made sense as to why he was acting like that. He goes down paths you wish he never thought to go down, such as hunting after a certain witch in an alley and mingling with the evil witches and warlocks he tried so hard to run from. It certainly is a side you did not want to see, but it’s still Vance and he is just as loveable as ever.

In this latest installment of the series, Portia still sees some of her old Vance in him, though he does not. Thinking he has a bad case of amnesia, Portia tries her hardest to get him to realize that he is still her loving husband, he’s just being stubborn.  But she will stop at nothing to prove he is still good.  When things turn out to be a lot worse than Portia imagined, was she really dealing with Vance, or someone from his past? What the heck happened at the end? Was I reading what I thought I was? The biggest question remains: What will happen in the fifth and final installment, Possession of Souls (due out in early 2012)? All I can say is that when it comes to Lacey and her books, patience goes right out the window.
